Many times each week I have to reset my life to be in God’s word. When I feel burdened, lost or even over worked and I’m not feeling in ‘God’s grace’ I’ve realized it’s because I’ve not given a few minutes of my day to Him. If I start my day in God’s word, digesting his wisdom and guidance I am awakened by His grace to see the bigger picture to all my concerns. John 15:4-8 says, “Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself, it must remain on the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. If man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up and thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be given you. This is to my father’s glory that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” I think I thought when I gave my heart to Jesus, I could press a delete button to erase all my faults. It’s not as easy as this! It is a daily challenge to try and model His guidelines.Wherever I go I have an opportunity to bring understanding and love to someone. I have to begin my day with an open bible and positive choices to better someones else’s day. I’m not perfect, never will be and I’m sure I will always need a reset button. Oh, and I’d better keep the delete button close by too! It’s hard to abolish ‘self’
