This is my space to share with and learn from you. Writing has been my passion. Perhaps it is your passion, also? Let’s talk about it!

I have been writing since I could hold a pencil! Granted, I began with stories about horses, mostly because I believed if God really existed, He would surely bring me a horse! When I was six, I put my request in my letter to Santa Claus. When my desire never came to be, I gave up on God and Santa.

Thirty years later, not only did I get my first horse, an Arabian gelding, I started working for one of the largest Arabian horse farms in the United States. Suddenly I had more horses around me to ride, pet, feed and love on than I ever imagined.

God doesn’t always give us what we ask for within OUR time frame!

This is the same with my writing. Like I said, I have written all my life. I stuffed pages and pages of my thoughts and stories into drawers. Who would have thought I’d get involved in a writers group in my sixties. Enter, Word Weavers, an International group of critique writers.

After attending a few meeting of the Northern Arizona Word Weavers, members asked me why I had not submitted my work to be published. I remember answering, “Really, you must be kidding. Who would be interested in my stories?” I went home that very day, googled Guidepost and submitted a short story about my daughters premature birth. A month later, the editor of “Angels On Earth” contacted me and said they wanted to publish my story. The rest is history.

I am blessed to currently be published in twenty anthologies, six “Chicken For The Soul” books, Wordsmith Journal and AARP. My first novel, “Pebbles In My Way” was released on September thirteenth and even at the age of seventy-four, I look forward to using the “gift” God has instilled in me and has given me in His timing!

Don’t get discouraged! God has a plan for your work!

Congratulations, Alice, on getting your own website! I loved your book Pebbles in my Way:…Finding God’s Grace. From the opening scene– news that every person dreads–to working the dream job on a ranch, and finding love in midlife after single motherhood, your book resonated with me on a deep level. If I had to put it down I couldn’t wait to pick it up again. It is a great book and I highly recommend it!
